While the US has Ronald McDonald as its premier fastfood icon, the Philippines has Jollibee, a big red bee that represents happiness (He's jolly, duh :)) and togetherness. And while there is a strong McDonalds foundation here, Jollibee is considered to be its toughest rival. Everywhere I go, the Jollibee outlets are packed with families eating out. Is it because a big cuddly bee is more marketable and appealing than a tall red-haired clown? I don't know. One thing I do know is, kids adore him.
*As always, you can find more info on Jollibee here, courtesy of our good friends at Wikipedia.

I love the kid hanging off his arm. As for the popularity of Jollibee..Id rather frequent his restaurant than one with a raggeddy ass creepy clown as a mascot.
