THE INVITATION

During my Philosophy exam last week, I stressed how great it is to live, to be alive, despite all the atrocities that we have to live through. Despite all the bad things in life, life is still worth living because we hope and believe that there is always something more (laging MERON pa), something better to it (laging may bubuti pa). We still want to go on.

Days later, I was almost completely robbed on my jeep commute home. Almost because I was able to retrieve my wallet back and completely because I still lost Php 200.

I was, of course, very upset at first but calmed down when I remembered what I reiterated during my Philo exam. Yes, despite THAT, I still believe in the goodness that is innate in us all, though some will stray from that goodness once in a while.

***By the way, about the photo: Some jeep drivers here like to flash their signboards from behind so that people walking by would already know what route the jeep would take, instead of them having to walk all the way up front of the jeep to look at the signboard. Clever? Saves time? Makes for a good story? Yes. Yes. And a big yes.
