NOTHING EVER ENDS

Bad timing is an understatement after I read Alan Moore's Watchmen on Christmas time. Amidst all the happy and positive vibes that people seem to generate during the Holidays, reading Watchmen made me feel bad, losing all hope at the stupidity of wars, calamities, and poverty.

At the end to the novel, Ozymandias asked Doc Manhattan if he thought what he did "in the end" was the right thing.

"In the end?" Doc replies. "Nothing ever ends."

It leaves a nagging thought in the mind, almost bitter to think of. Nothing ever ends. Hardship, suffering, evil, it seems, would never end.

If this is so, then happiness and hope would also never end.

Merry Christmas!
